Welcome to DEVOCEAN Lodge, where adventure meets sustainability.

Nestled in a lush green oasis, DEVOCEAN Lodge is a family-run retreat that began its journey in late 2015. Back then, our focus was on diving, which inspired our name. Over time, we expanded into accommodations, gradually refining our offerings. Despite the challenges of the two-year COVID pandemic, we’ve continued to grow and thrive.

Today, we offer 10 unique accommodation options, blending adventure with comfort. With plans to add 8 more by 2025, we remain committed to enhancing the guest experience. Together with our dedicated staff and the local community, we create a harmonious blend of culture, beach, and adventure in a welcoming, community-focused environment.

Our efforts over the past decade have earned the trust of local leaders. We’ve been granted the opportunity to develop a guest farm at Lake Satina. This project will serve as a hub for sustainable practices, offering hands-on experiences in self-reliance and knowledge sharing.

Guests can already enjoy the fruits of these initiatives, such as fresh eggs and meat from free-range indigenous chickens, contributing to a wholesome daily breakfast. Under the guidance of our in-house chef, we also serve delicious lunches and dinners at our restaurant.

DEVOCEAN Lodge is located in the heart of a vibrant African village, surrounded by Southern Africa’s stunning natural landscapes and marine parks.

Surroundings worth to explore
To the east, the marine reserves of Maputo National Park are renowned as a "World-Class Dive Destination." To the north, green hills, pristine lakes, and coastal forests meet the Indian Ocean, where African Coastal Elephants and whales can be seen together—an unparalleled natural wonder. To the west lies the Lubombo Transfrontier Conservation Area and most of the land to the south is covered by the Thembe Reserve and iSimangaliso Wetland World Heritage Park.

Easy Accessibility
Ponta do Ouro is nowadays easily accessible via a paved road from the South African border at Kosi Bay and the Maputo Bay bridge, blending convenience with adventure.
